TitanFile enables you to upload files and folders at blazing-fast upload speeds, reaching up to 150Mbps depending on your internet connection speed.
We accelerate upload speeds through:
-
Parallel uploads – If you’re uploading multiple files or folders, we open 3 simultaneous connections which helps upload files faster.
-
Chunk Processing – Large files are split into smaller files and uploaded one piece at a time.
If you are experiencing slow upload speeds, there may be several internal factors that are limiting it.
How to diagnose slow upload speeds
Follow the steps below to diagnose your internet upload speed.
1. Use a tool to test your internet speed
Speedtest.net is one of the most common tools used to check internet connection speeds.
Internet speed is typically portrayed in Megabits per second (Mbps). 8 Megabits is equivalent to 1 Megabyte. For example, if speedtest.net shows that your internet connection provides upload speeds up to 152.96 Mbps, you can expect to upload files at around 19.12 Megabytes per second (MBps).
If you see a much lower upload speed, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see what's going on.
2. Try uploading in 15 minutes
The number of users on your network and their activity can also impact your upload speeds. This is because your network has a bandwidth - the maximum amount of data that can be transmitted through your network at any given time.
It's possible that multiple people from your organization are downloading or uploading files at the same time. If your upload is not urgent, you can try again in 15 minutes to see if the upload speeds quicken.
3. Contact your IT team
Your IT team will be able to check if there are any firewalls in place or other restrictions that are limiting your upload speeds.
4. Contact TitanFile
If you followed the other three steps but are still unable to identify why your upload speeds are slow, it's time to contact TitanFile.
