1. What This Feature Does
The Transfer and Manage User Access feature allows administrators to reassign ownership and manage user access within TitanFile.
This includes:
- Transferring channel ownership
- Transferring subscription ownership
- Impersonating a user (admin access)
These actions ensure continuity when users change roles, leave the organization, or require support.
2. Who Can Use It
- Admin users can transfer channels and impersonate users
- Only the subscription owner can transfer subscription ownership
Plan-Based Behavior
For All Plans
- Admins can:
- Transfer channels between users
- Impersonate users for support purposes
- Only the subscription owner can:
- Transfer subscription ownership
For Enterprise Plans
- Access to user management actions is controlled by role permissions
- If a user does not have the required permission in their assigned role:
- The action will not be available to them

3. Step-by-Step Instructions
A. Transfer Channel Ownership
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Manage Users
- Locate the user whose channels you want to transfer
- Click the three vertical ellipses (⋮) under the Actions column
- Select Transfer Channels
- Enter the email address of the user who will receive the channels
- (Optional) Select:
- Send out email notices to all affected members
- Click Transfer
- A confirmation message will appear indicating the transfer has started
B. Transfer Subscription Ownership
Important: Only the current subscription owner can perform this action.
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Manage Users
- Locate the current subscription owner
- Click the three vertical ellipses (⋮)
- Select Transfer Ownership
- Enter the email address of the new owner
- Confirm the transfer
- Ownership of the entire subscription will be reassigned
C. Impersonate a User (Admin Access)
- Navigate to Settings
- Select Manage Users
- Locate the user in the table
- Click the three vertical ellipses (⋮) under the Actions column
- Select Impersonate User
- Confirm the action
- You will be immediately logged into the selected user’s account
- You will now be operating within the system as that user
What Happens During Impersonation
- You will see and interact with the platform as the selected user
- All actions will be performed within that user’s account context
Important Behavior
- This is admin-initiated impersonation
- No credentials are required from the user
- You will remain in the impersonated session until you exit
Security and Audit
- All impersonation activity is logged
- Actions are traceable for audit and compliance purposes
4. What Happens After
- Channel transfers:
- Ownership is reassigned to the new user
- Channels remain intact
- Subscription ownership transfer:
- The new user becomes the primary admin
- Impersonation:
- Immediate access to the user’s account
Important Behavior
- Channel transfers do not delete or modify channel content
- Ownership transfers apply immediately and affect permissions
- Impersonation does not transfer ownership
