The Open Access feature is not the most secure way to send files, since it does not ask your contacts for any authentication. To ensure that your content is always secure, you can now add a channel password.
Subscription Administrators can enforce the use of channel passwords for all open access Channels. With this option enabled, all channel owners will be required to create a channel password when enabling the open access option.
How to enable open channel password enforcement
Step 1: Navigate to the "Channel Options" tab via "Options"
Step 2: Scroll to the "Open Access" section and switch on the "Require mandatory password for newly created open access channels" toggle
**Important Note: In order for the toggle to be enabled, the toggle above and below it needs to be enabled as well. Otherwise, the system will not allow it to be turned on.
Step 3: Press 'Save'
Once saved, the next time an open access channel is created, users will be required to enter a password.
Open channel password enforcement for subscription users
With password-enforced open-access channels enabled, subscription users will be prompted to create a channel password when creating an open-access channel.
**Note: Please share this password with users in a separate message.
Open channel password enforcement from external users
External users will go through the same steps to access an open-access channel as previously performed. The only difference is that now they will be required to enter a password you have shared with them separately.
Step 1: Click the "Access Files" notification in your email inbox
Step 2: Enter the channel password to access contents
