The Microsoft 365 integration with TitanFile provides a secure and intuitive way to manage and collaborate on documents directly within TitanFile. This integration empowers users to edit, co-edit, and preview Microsoft 365 documents such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files without needing to download them to a local drive or switch between platforms. By participating in this beta program, you’ll gain early access to innovative features designed to streamline workflows and enhance productivity while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.

- Edit and Co-Edit Documents: Collaborate in real time with your team on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
- Preview Without Downloading: View Microsoft 365 documents securely within TitanFile.
- Document Editing by Channel: Enable document editing for specific channels to foster focused collaboration.
- Beta Access Controls: Assign beta features to specific users or your entire subscription.
Admin Steps
Enroll the Subscription in the Microsoft 365 Integration Beta Program
- Navigate to Options -> Integrations in the admin panel.
- Find the section titled Microsoft 365 Integration.
- Click the toggle Enroll this subscription in TitanFile's Microsoft 365 integration beta program.
- In the popup click I Agree.
- Confirm enrollment by clicking Save.
- Microsoft 365 document preview will now be available to the subscription.
- Reminder: Admin will have to enroll a user into the beta program to have preview available.
Enroll the Subscription in the Microsoft 365 Integration Beta Program for Document Editing
- Navigate to Options -> Integrations in the admin panel.
- Find the section titled Microsoft 365 Integration.
- Click the toggle Enroll this subscription in TitanFile's Microsoft 365 integration beta program for document editing.
- Confirm enrollment by clicking Save.
- Microsoft 365 document editing will now be available to the subscription.
- Reminder: Enrolled users will have to enable the beta program on each channel they would like to edit Microsoft documents on.
Enroll a Specific User in the Microsoft 365 Integration Beta Program
- Navigate to Options -> User Management.
- Locate the user you wish to enroll in the beta program.
- Click the Edit User option next to their name.
- Check Enroll this user in TitanFile's Microsoft 365 integration beta program.
- Save changes.
- The user will now have access to beta features, including document preview and editing.
- Reminder: Enrolled users will have to enable the beta program on each channel they would like to edit Microsoft documents on.
Set Default Action for Opening Microsoft 365 Documents Across the Subscription
- Navigate to Options -> Integrations.
- Under Microsoft Office 365 Integration -> Default action when opening a Microsoft 365 document across the subscription.
- Choose one of the following options from the dropdown:
- Preview in Office for the Web
- Download
- Open in Office for the Web
- Ask me every time
- Click Save.
User Steps
Enable Document Editing in a Channel
- Open the channel where you want to enable editing.
- Navigate to Options menu.
- Check Enroll this channel in TitanFile's Microsoft 365 integration beta program for document editing.
- Save the settings.
- You and all members of the channel can now edit Microsoft 365 documents directly
Preview Documents Without Editing
Steps for File Tab:
- Navigate to the File Tab of the channel.
- Find the document you want to preview.
- Click the dropdown button beside the file name.
- Select Open -> Preview in Word for the Web.
Steps for Conversation Tab:
- Navigate to the Conversation Tab of the channel.
- Double-click the Microsoft 365 document you want to preview.
- In the dialog box, select Preview in Word for the Web.
- Click Ok.
Opening and Editing Documents in the File or Conversation Tab
Steps for File Tab:
- Navigate to the File Tab of the channel.
- Find the document you want to open.
- Click the dropdown button beside the file name.
- Select Open -> Open in Word for the Web (or Excel/PowerPoint for the Web, depending on the file type).
- The document will open in a new window for editing or viewing.
Steps for Conversation Tab:
- Navigate to the Conversation Tab of the channel.
- Double-click the Microsoft 365 document you want to open.
- In the dialog box, select Open in Word for the Web (or Excel/PowerPoint for the Web).
- Click Ok
Co-Editing Documents
- Open the document you want to co-edit in the File Tab or Conversation Tab.
- If another user is editing the document, you will see a green edit icon next to the file.
- Click Open in Word for the Web.
- Multiple users can now edit the document simultaneously.
- Note: Microsoft recommends no more than 10 concurrent users to avoid potential conflicts.
Convert Old Microsoft 365 Formats to Newer Formats
Steps for File Tab:
- Select an old Microsoft 365 document (e.g., .xls).
- Click the dropdown button beside the file name.
- Select Open -> Convert and Edit in Excel for the Web.
- Follow the prompts to convert and edit the file.
Steps for Conversation Tab:
- Double-click an old Microsoft 365 document (e.g., .xls).
- In the dialog box, select Convert and Edit in Excel for the Web.
