End User Steps
Enable Document Editing in a Channel
- Open the channel where you want to enable editing.
- Navigate to Options menu.
- Check Enroll this channel in TitanFile's Microsoft 365 integration beta program for document editing.
- Save the settings.
- You and all members of the channel can now edit Microsoft 365 documents directly
Preview Documents Without Editing
Steps for File Tab:
- Navigate to the File Tab of the channel.
- Find the document you want to preview.
- Click the dropdown button beside the file name.
- Select Open -> Preview in Word for the Web.
Steps for Conversation Tab:
- Navigate to the Conversation Tab of the channel.
- Double-click the Microsoft 365 document you want to preview.
- In the dialog box, select Preview in Word for the Web.
- Click Ok.
Opening and Editing Documents in the File or Conversation Tab
Steps for File Tab:
- Navigate to the File Tab of the channel.
- Find the document you want to open.
- Click the dropdown button beside the file name.
- Select Open -> Open in Word for the Web (or Excel/PowerPoint for the Web, depending on the file type).
- The document will open in a new window for editing or viewing.
Steps for Conversation Tab:
- Navigate to the Conversation Tab of the channel.
- Double-click the Microsoft 365 document you want to open.
- In the dialog box, select Open in Word for the Web (or Excel/PowerPoint for the Web).
- Click Ok
Co-Editing Documents
- Open the document you want to co-edit in the File Tab or Conversation Tab.
- If another user is editing the document, you will see a green edit icon next to the file.
- Click Open in Word for the Web.
- Multiple users can now edit the document simultaneously.
- Note: Microsoft recommends no more than 10 concurrent users to avoid potential conflicts.
Convert Old Microsoft 365 Formats to Newer Formats
Steps for File Tab:
- Select an old Microsoft 365 document (e.g., .xls).
- Click the dropdown button beside the file name.
- Select Open -> Convert and Edit in Excel for the Web.
- Follow the prompts to convert and edit the file.
Steps for Conversation Tab:
- Double-click an old Microsoft 365 document (e.g., .xls).
- In the dialog box, select Convert and Edit in Excel for the Web.
- Follow the prompts to convert and edit the file.
